2022 in Review
2022 was quite the year at Koti Designs! There was incredible growth, learnings, and changes along the way!
2022 Highlights!
1 | One change with a huge impact to way the business functions was moving out of three small storage units into one larger (900 sq ft) storage unit! Sorting and selecting for staging projects was chaotic to say the least. No more climbing over furniture and trying to organize in three tiny spaces! Our inventory is sorted and organized by type. And we have a prep station is complete with a whiteboard and colored tape for keeping track of projects, along with totes, moving blankets, packing materials, and our install bags and tool box. It’s lovely!
2 | I have a part-time staging assistant! You never know where your next client, friend, or in this case, team member will come from. Kolbie has been my incredible hair stylist for the last several years so she has heard all about Koti Designs as I am in her chair quite often (short hair problems lol). She mentioned that she was really interested in staging and if I ever needed help to let her know. The timing was simply perfect and she has been helping not only with staging and de-staging, but with getting the new storage unit organized! I am so lucky to have her join me!!
3 | An investment that was exceedingly more than worth it was joining the 6 month Business As Unusual mastermind cohort offered by my business coach Meg (Your Coach Meg)! Being in a focused group with other passionate female entrepreneurs was everything I had hoped for! The topics of our bi-weekly calls as a group were always timely and the learning each and every call was so valuable. On top of that, getting a 90 minute 1:1 session with Meg each month was exceptional!! I am so excited to be continuing my work with her in the new year!
4 | Last but certainly not least, and with a giant impact to the growth of the business, was being able to leave my start-up tech job to focus on Koti Designs full time! The last couple of months have been amazing and I am so very thankful that I get to dedicate my time to something that brings me SO much joy and happiness!
Time to Look Ahead!
So, what’s in store for Koti Designs in 2023?? I am beginning to work on setting new annual goals and then breaking those down into quarters and months (thanks to Meg’s help!!). We’ll be staging even more (the calendar is filling up quickly!) and also working on some design projects that I can’t wait to share with you. As always I will be updating processes and procedures and pushing the business ever forward!
